WHAT ARE COOKIES?

• Browsing habits: trend data observed in the user while surfing a webpage, such as areas visited, most visited sections, search location and purpose, among others.

WHAT TYPES OF COOKIES DO WE USE?

Based on the managing entity:

• First party-cookies: cookies sent to the user’s terminal equipment from a device or domain managed by the editor, which provides the service requested by the user.
• Third-party cookies: cookies sent to the user’s terminal equipment from a device or domain that is not managed by the editor, but rather by another entity that processes the data obtained through the cookies.

Based on the amount of time they remain activated:

• Session cookie: a type of cookie designed to get and store data while the user is using a webpage.
• Persistent cookies: a type of cookie that stores data in the device and can be accessed and used for a period defined by the responsible for the cookie, which can vary from a minute to several years.

Based on the purpose that the data obtained through the cookies is used for:

• Technical cookies: cookies that enable the user to browse a website, platform or application and use the various options or services thereon, including controlling traffic and data communication, identifying the session, accessing restricted areas, remembering items in an order, making purchases of an order, filling out a registration application or request to participate in an event, using security items while browsing, storing content to disseminate video or sound files and sharing content over social networks.
• Functionality cookies: Cookies that enable the user to access the service with certain general features predefined on the user’s device based on a series of criteria, such as language, browser used to access the service, regional configuration for where the service is accessed, etc.
• Analytical cookies: Cookies that enable those responsible for them to track and analyze the behavior of websites to which they are related. The data gathered through this type of cookie is used to measure the activity of the websites, application or platform and to create a browsing profile for the website, application or platform users in order to analyze the data regarding the use the user makes of the service.

WHICH COOKIES DO WE USE IN PARTICULAR?

We use the following cookies in particular

• _utma, _utmc, _utmz, _utmb: Cookies from Google Analytics used for Web analysis. The information gathered is completely anonymous and cannot identify the user in any way. Click here for more information on Google Analytics cookies, here.
• _utma: It is used to distinguish between users and sessions. This cookie is created when executing the JavaScript library while there is not an utma_ cookie. It has a permanence of 2 years.
• _utmc: It is not used in ga.js. This cookie is configured to interact with urchin.js. Previously, this cookie worked along with the _utmb cookie in order to determine if the user was browsing on a new session.
• _utmb: It is used to determine new sessions or visits. This cookie is created when executing the JavaScript library while there is not an utmb_ cookie, and it is updated every time data are sent to Google Analytics. Since it is a session cookie, it gets removed automatically when moving to other page or closing the browser.
• _utmz: It records the traffic source or campaign that explains how the user has reached the page. This cookie is created when executing the JavaScript library and updated every time data are sent to Google Analytics. It has a permanence of 6 months.
• cookie-agreed-es: It is a first-party cookie used to record if the user has closed the notification or banner in the bottom explaining the use of cookies in the web when clicking on “I agree”. It is a permanence of 1year. It does not allow to identify the user (anonymous cookie).
• has.js: It is a first-party cookie used to determine if the JavaScript function is supported by the user’s browser.

HOW TO DISABLE COOKIES

Blocking or disabling all cookies helps protect privacy, but may also limit the navigation experience in certain websites, as well as some functions, or even not allowing the proper browsing or use of some of its services.
